Adult Orthotics

When illness, accident, or disability strikes, the loss of normal function can be a terrible blow to you and your family. It’s possible that you won’t be able to move around easily and comfortably, take care of yourself or your family, or fully enjoy life. It may be necessary to wear an orthotic device, commonly known as a brace, to give protection if this disability affects the arms, legs, or back. Orthoses come in a variety of styles and materials.

They might be prefabricated or made to order, light or heavy duty, straightforward or complex. It requires a highly skilled individual to accurately analyse the problem and develop a plan for the best result because there are many options and qualities to take into account. This clinician is called an orthotics, and there is a high standard of education and preparation for the best orthotics. We only hire ABC accredited or board-eligible practitioners

TAMARACK FLEXURE ANKLE JOINT

The medial and lateral joint axes are co-aligned by Tamarack Joint Selves. The special inner filament center of high strength avoids elongation and ensures precise hinging action. In the case of patients with:

• Foot drop
• Flaccidity at Ankle during support
Available in 3 different sizes

TAMARACK DORSIFLEXION-ASSIST FLEXURE ANKLE JOINT

Similar to conventional metal dorsi-assist ankle joints, the biassed design provides motion assist control.
In the case of patients with:

• Mild/ Moderate Spasticity or Drop foot
• Dorsiflexors Weakness

Available in six different sizes with three durometers, i.e. 75, 85 & 95, to provide the patients with the necessary amount of motion assistance.

TAMARACK VARIABLE ASSIST ANKLE JOINT

The Tamarack assist variable enables the practitioner to change joint moments to any value from zero to almost three times what is possible with the regular installation.

• When greater adjustability or angular range of motion is required
• High plantar Flexure tones (mild contracture) needs gradual corrective adjustment.
To prevent AFO from changing regularly after corrections

TAMARACK CLEVISPHERE ANKLE JOINT

The Clevisphere ankle joint is an adjustable free-motion stop ankle joint featuring a spherical wing that can rotate within a 24 conical range around any axis and provides automatic co-alignment of the medical and lateral joint axes. In the case of patients with:

  • Flexible location of Varus / Valgus during gait or drop foot.
  • Flaccidity during help and tibial torsions at Ankle.
It comes only in adult sizes.

CAMBER AXIS HINGE ANKLE JOINT

  • The Camber Axis Hinge Ankle Joint provides patients with variable ranges of movement or fixed ankle positioning.
  • A durable joint of stainless steel that removes the need for rear stops.
  • Variable degrees of control from fixed ankle to restricted movement of planter or dorsiflexion are permitted by color code keys.

Available in three sizes.
Can be used at other joint locations.

SCOTTY FREE MOTION ANKLE JOINT

Scotty is an ankle joint made of free motion stainless steel.
In the case of patients with:

• Mild mediolateral instability

• Flexible Varus/Valgus position and foot drop

Available in two sizes: 780 L – Large with a length of 76mm 780 S – Small with a length of 64mm

OKLAHOMA ANKLE JOINT

In order to construct a free motion AFO, Oklahoma is a cost-effective process. When used with a posterior stop set, the AFO is applied to motion control.
In the case of patients with:

• Mild Mediolateral Ankle instability

• Mild Ankle spasticity or Drop Foot

Available in 5 sizes with Polypropylene or Nylon (High Density)

WHAT MAKES THE UNLOADER ONE® SO UNIQUE?

A new design for OA bracing began to be created by inventors in 1986.

The 3-Point Leverage System is born.

The idea was that the upper and lower shells of the brace frame would act as leverage arms by imparting a valgus bend to a single, medial upright when the counter force of a diagonal Dynamic Force Strap TM was applied. By removing weight from the medial compartment of the knee, this would relieve pressure. the initial poll. After consulting with the medical community, a groundbreaking study review examines the efficacy of

To treat medial OA, lateral and medial hinge positioning was used. This study came to the conclusion that medial valgus bracing significantly reduced discomfort. With a method that has been scientifically validated and active patents, these innovative custom knee braces are being introduced. This effective treatment option for unicompartmental knee osteoarthritis gained ground quickly. Later, lateral hinge positioning was employed to alleviate the lateral compartment problems. By the middle of the 1990s, the new Unloader brace was being utilised all over the world, and the name Unloader came to mean OA knee bracing.

The latest technology:  A single unloader Unloader One has evolved into the most significant overhaul of the Unloader idea since its inception. Unloader One offers a fresh take on the conventional 3-Point Leverage System and is available in both bespoke and OTS variants. Dual Dynamic Force Braces distribute the counterforce over two points of contact and the brace features a flexible upright. Technology using Ossur Sensil ® Silicone With a ratcheting dynamic force control mechanism, cushioning, and a greater unloading capacity, Unloader One offers less likelihood of migration. The Unloader One has been simplified to weigh half as much as before while increasing unloading power and improving comfort and compliance.

THE 3- POINT LEVERAGE SYSTEM

The 3-point leverage device, consisting of a single upright plus diagonal dynamic force strapstm, is the fundamental component of unloader osteoarthritis knee braces.
